CHEYENNE, Wyo.- The state of Wyoming legislator recently passed a bill that will prohibit any state or government agencies from adopting laws, rules, or policies that target pregnancy centers for their stance on abortion.
The main take away from this bill is to prohibit the government from enforcing pregnancy centers to give information on abortions, conducting abortions, and consulting in favor of an abortion.
The bill also includes three exceptions to the rule including: to save a life or preserve the well-being of an unborn child, remove a dead unborn child due to miscarriage or stillbirth, remove an ectopic pregnancy, or to save the life of the pregnant person due to a complicated birth.
The bill, HB0003, gives a list of reasons for benefits of pregnancy agency including; comprehensive care for people facing unplanned pregnancy, life-affirming policies within pregnancy centers, and its long-term commitment to the state of Wyoming.
The bill goes into effect on July 1, 2025.
