CHEYENNE, Wyo.- The state of Wyoming legislator recently passed a bill that will allow for Medicaid coverage to apply to birthing centers.

Birthing centers are a homelike healthcare facility for low risk births usually run by midwives. The purpose of a birthing center is to allow the pregnant person to give birth with minimal medical intervention such as an epidural.

This bill will go into effect on July 1, 2026
