Wyoming Legislator Allocated Funds for Firefighter Benefits

CHEYENNE, Wyo.- Two recent bills passed allocating funds to Wyoming firefighters for paid-time leave, hazard pay, and retirement.


The first bill (HB0035) allocated $422,500 for the purpose of hazard pay and paid-time leave. The appropriation shall start from May 1, 2026 and end on June 30, 2028.


The second bill (HB0034) will allocate $411,000 for the purpose of retirement benefits. These funds will go to any firefighter who was employed on a full-time basis. The bill goes into effect July 1, 2026 and end on June 30, 2028.
