CHEYENNE, Wyo.- A recent bill passed that will bar sex offenders from public office in the state of Wyoming, and more serious punishments for sex offenders.

This law comes from the recent push by the legislation to handle sex abuse crimes including bills targeting sexual abuse of minors, grooming of minors, and stalking of minors.

The purpose of these bills is to protect children and maintain the integrity of elected officials.

This bill (HB0092) will go into law on July 1, 2025 and any current member of office or candidates running for office who is on the sex offender list will not be allowed to hold office.
